IIRC Gog.com did a special case for owners of the witcher 3, allowing them to essentially get the game free on GOG also if they owned the steam version, fixing any DLC mismatch issues. It usually doesn't hurt consumers though, since the game should launch on steam at the same time as the publishers site, and usually the DLC is cheapest on Steam. So in this case, yes EA being EA, but they are also right. Sounds like they made some half-ass attempts at this for older titles. Steams contractual requirements that I'm sure they didn't budge on for EA requires all DLC be purchased through steam, and if it has micro transactions, Steam get a cut of them too. If somebody finds a cleaner way to manage owning the game on both, please let me know. I received the new DA2 Steam release and did not re-buy the DLC bundle on Steam since I already had it on Origin. ORIGIN DRAGON AGE II DLC INSTALL
* I didn't see any way to install it from Steam. Go to the Steam game page for this content to manage it." * In Origin, the Black Emporium has the following note which it didn't have before: "You have this content via Steam. Everything was present except for the Black Emporium. * I checked DLC in game against the list of DLC in the DA wiki.
ORIGIN DRAGON AGE II DLC DOWNLOAD
* After letting it download DLC, I was able to run the new Steam version of the game It correctly detected the Steam version's install directory and downloaded the DLC there. * Relaunching the new Steam version caused Origin to launch and download *almost* all the DLC I had purchased for for DA2. * I already had the Origin version of DA2 installed so I unsintalled it and closed Origin * I noticed at this point that origin did not create a second entry for the new Steam version, it seems to have merged it into one entry with the Origin version. * Launching the Steam version of DA2 for the first time after installing opened Origin but had issues and did not successfully launch the game
